Often referred to as the “Heart of the San Ramon Valley,” Danville’s tree-lined streets and family-friendly offerings are highlighted by a renowned downtown filled with shopping, dining, and entertainment. In 2020, Danville was named the safest town in California.

Danville offers many unique areas for homeowners, including the Westside, Sycamore, Geenbrook, Danville Station, Crow Canyon Country Club, and many neighborhoods along the Camino Tassajara corridor.

Danville has exceptional surrounding nature, including Mount Diablo State Park, and Las Trampas Regional Wilderness. Both are enjoyed by biking and hiking enthusiasts. The Iron Horse Trail, which spans over 30 miles from Concord to Pleasanton, runs through the heart of downtown Danville and is a popular walking and biking trail for locals and families. Danville is also home to the San Damiano Retreat, a Franciscan monastery that welcomes visitors seeking spiritual renewal and growth.

Its weekly farmers’ market occurs next to the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, located in the Southern Pacific Railroad Train Depot. There are also numerous festivals and events downtown throughout the year, including The Danville July 4th parade and lighting of the historic Oak Tree to kick off the Christmas season.

Danville has outstanding public schools, which is one of the main reasons given by families who choose to move there. The San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been named to the annual AP Honor Roll for eight consecutive years, one of only two school districts to achieve this milestone.
